Well, I’ve opined that a year is HALF the life of a 2-year-old, 10% that of a 10-year-old, but only 2% of a 50-year-old. So, I believe our perspective on time has to do with the fraction of our total memories created.

On a related note, I’ve often said that as a parent (not original, but I can’t recall where I heard it first): “The days are long, but the years are short”.
